The Makita M8701 MT Series Rotary Hammer SDS+ is powered by an 800 watt motor, with variable speed control to allow the user to adjust the speed based on the material or the application. This model can deliver up to 4,500 bpm, 1,200 rpm and 2.3 joules of impact energy. The Rotary Hammer is equipped with 3 mode operation, for rotary only, hammer with rotary and hammer only. The operation mode change lever is positioned on the bottom of the gear housing for reduced possibility of breakage. One touch sliding chuck for quick and easy bit installations and removals with one hand, adapted for SDS-Plus bits. It has a featured bit guide for increased stability during drilling applications. The torque limiter stops the rotation if a bit jams or hits an obstacle for increased operator safety and protection of the motor, recessed lock on function for continuous use and depth stop for drilling consistency. The M8701 has an easy to grip handle, ergonomically designed to give maximum power thrust and to provide a sure and comfortable grip in any operation, whether it be an overhead operation, drilling with palm up or palm down grip. The MT series from Makita offers a comprehensive list of tools at an affordable market price. Produced to a standard far exceeding that of the DIY market, the MT series combines industrial build quality with fundamental professional requirements, without the professional price tag. The MT series is therefore tailored to suit all discerning home-users, apprentices and trade users, who don't require all the features of a high-end professional machine, just a robust and reliable tool to get the job done. MT series tools are produced in the same worldwide Makita factories as fully fledged Makita tools, and are subject to the same stringent quality control processes.
